The C-CASCADES Summer School will be organized in the beautiful village of Peyresq. This place have been re-built by the non-profit organization ‘Nicolas-Claude Fabri de Peiresq absl', an European Association for Culture and for Artistic and Scientific Humanism. They decided to dedicate the village for cultural and scientific meetings: in the astonished environment of the French Alps, everything is made to trigger the interactions between the participants: no interference from the consumer society, no shops, no banks, nothing but the Nature!
How to get to Peyresq?
Peyresq is located about 100km from Nice (France). So, you need to reach Nice first, by plane (Nice-Cote-d’Azur Airport) or by train (Nice-Ville Station). Then, 2 options:
- We will organize a bus shuttle on the first day, which will pick up the participants from the airport and the train station and will drive them directly to Peyresq (1h1/2 drive). On the last day, the bus will start from Peyresq in the morning and leave them at the train station and the airport. See here for the exact time and pick-up places.
- For those who will come just for few days, there is a small picturesque train called ‘Chemins de Fer de Provence', which goes from ‘Nice Gare de Provence’ to Digne. Here is a map to find the train station (it’s about 10 min walk from ‘Nice-Ville’ station). Then, you will get off in 'Annot'. From Annot, we will arrange a taxi drive to Peyresq for you (tell us your arrival time in advance!). Here is a time-table of the trains. NOTE: don’t get off in ‘Peyresq’ station, it’s too far!
You can of course reach the place by car too, if you wish. Here is the map. It takes 1h1/2 from Nice.
